Preparation for Painting the Exterior of your Home This will depend on how long since it was last painted. If it has not been done in a while I would recommend a fungicidal wash; Farbex Multi Surface Prep is ideal. This is applied to the surface by brush or spray , left to work , and then power washed off. Even if the surface doesn’t look that dirty or has been painted over the last 2-3 years I would still recommend to this or at least power wash down the area. A clean surface will result in greater paint adhesion subsequently. Allow the surface to fully dry ( 1-2 days ) Fill any cracks with a high quality exterior filler – I would highly recommend the Toupret exterior range. It is very important to fill any holes or cracks on the surface as over time water can get trapped here and cause problems later . Mask off any areas that you don’t want painted i.e Doors/Window Frames and use a good quality Drop/Dust sheet to cover paths , Garden Beds etc. Now you are ready to start painting Good Luck ! pmpadmin2017-09-21T15:32:42+01:00 Share This Story, Choose Your Platform!
