How Do I Paint My Skirting Boards?

Follow the below steps to ensure a perfect finish on your skirting boards.

You Will Need:

  • A dust sheet
  • A vacuum
  • A dustpan & brush
  • A piece of card
  • A 2 - 3" brush

How to Paint Your Skirting Boards: A Step-By-Step Guide

  1. Lift carpet or protect with a dust sheet.
  2. Vacuum the area between the skirting and floor to remove dust and debris.
  3. Place a piece of card between the skirting and the floor to prevent the paint brush touching the flooring.
  4. Apply undercoat and gloss paint with a 2" or 3" brush depending on the height of the skirting board.
  5. Paint along the skirting board about 1 metre at a time.
