We are currently recruiting for a Colour Consultant to join the team in our Nutgrove Store, Rathfarnham, Dublin.

We are looking for a self-motivated, commercially minded Colour Consultant who is passionate about colour, who enjoys approaching and selling to customers, and who will provide enthusiastic, professional, and best in class service to our customers in line with our ethos.

Our Colour Consultants work with customers to help choose colours/colour schemes and to give advice on interior design questions in relation to our products.  Consultations with customers are carried out in-store and/or at customer homes, businesses and other premises or sites.

The ideal person will have an Interior Design & Retail background with exceptional communication and product knowledge skills.  You will be a self-starter and a team player with a drive for generating and closing sales.

You will stay up to date with the latest trends and you will develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of products carried by the company along with pricing structures in order to deliver accurate information and advice to our customers.

As a member of the sales team, you will really get to know our customers and what they are looking for; it’s everything from helping them find the perfect product, to stocking the shelves, to merchandising, to taking deliveries, to stocktaking, to getting behind an in-store promotion.

Experience/Skills Required

  • – Qualification in Interior Design or similar, or extensive previous experience in Colour Consultancy and/or Interior Design role.
  • – 2-3 Years Interior Design experience ideal, examples of work will be required
  • – Flexible in relation to hours/days of work, including weekends.
  • – Be comfortable using computerised equipment such as cash tills and stock systems.
  • – Must have a full driving licence with own transport.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate proven experience and skills in the following areas:

ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER – BACHELORS QUAY

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Manager to join the team in our Bachelors Quay store in Cork.

Reporting to the Store Manager, the Assistant Manager will assist in leading and co-ordinating the day-to-day activities for the store.  S/He will work very closely with the Store Manager to lead by example, inspiring the team to deliver the best service to our customers.

The key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Ability to consistently deliver great customer experiences — no matter what the situation
  • Support and work alongside the Store Manager in ensuring the store reaches and maintains standards
  • Deputise for the Store Manager in his/her absence, assuming full responsibility for the day to day running of the Store
  • Drive effective communications within the store by leading by example and ensuring timely and consistent communications
  • Assist with and deliver in-store promotional activities. Work closely with Management to ensure merchandise is displayed in a commercial manner designed to maximise its potential
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and company regulations and policies, including Health & Safety
  • Responsible for assisting with the management of the team. Ensure all team members are trained in and demonstrate the Pat McDonnell Customer Ethos
  • Manage operational items, e.g. Rosters, Holidays, Tills and Stock Control

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate proven experience and skills in the following areas:

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Manager in a fast paced retail environment
  • Excellent customer service skills and a commitment to building good relationships with the customers, team and other key stakeholders
  • To offer and deliver best in class advice and product knowledge to all customers
  • To drive sales within the branch by promoting the products and services in the shop
  • Strong people skills and an aptitude for problem solving

5+ years’ experience in a retail supervisory/management role with a proven track record, preferably within a Paint/DIY/Hardware or similar environment.

A Retail Management Qualification is desirable.
