Hello colour lovers!

The year gone by was fairly intense in the paint world. There was a massive increase in the use of colour in interiors. Bold and adventurous hues seen in fashion during previous years have started to appear in domestic settings alongside well liked neutrals. I will write a few short posts in the upcoming month before the busy decorating season kicks in.

New classics

We saw a lot of muddy and earthy shades going up on the walls during last year. The most in-demand ones were the green-grey hues for example, ‘0337 Urban Charm’, brown-greys ‘0226 Sedgeby Colortrend and blue-greys ‘Pure Cloud’ by Dulux Signature Range. Classic beige ‘0174 Maple Pecan’ by Colortrend and biscuit
‘Biscotti’. ‘Biscotti’ by Dulux hues have taken a big step back. The most favoured hue to decorate with is certainly a grey. Dulux has brought out a fantastic Signature Range, their ‘Mid Shadow’ and ‘Upgreyed’ is just such a chic combination.

They are grown up greys that could be lifted up by adding a touch of ‘Harissa’ by Dulux Signature. This energizing red-orange would work well painted on the occasional table. Grey is continuing to be the leader in neutrals. Consider one of the following a’ la mode greys for your property ‘0561 Indian Hills’ by Colortrend for the hallway, ‘Lamp Room Gray no.88’ by Farrow and Ball for the master bedroom or ‘Grey Steel no.1’ for the den.
