Colour Palette from Salone del Mobile Milan 2015 with Dulux Ireland ’NAKED INDIVIDUALITY’
One of the trends seen was NAKED INDIVIDUALITY.
Almost everything is personalized nowadays from phone covers to wallpaper patterns. Living areas are all about you, individuality rocks in every corner of the house. What is your secret recipe of being you? Write it on the walls! Give hints.
This is all about “you” the unseen you, you who has been living in a shadow from closest of friends and family, perhaps even from yourself? The “you” that has been stuck, got lost on a track or got lost in translation. You the movie star working in the office? It could be “you” the project manager during the day and Cinderella at midnight? No commitments, schedule, emails or other disturbing factors. Time is right for bringing out your inner self and exhibiting this at home as it is your castle.
This trend is translated into interiors with bold colours with earthy qualities. 70’s style but colours have much more muted more grey in them. Dusky pinks, mustard, green and indigo and teal blue of course.
My personal favourite of this trend, was half painted walls and coat of opaque colour. Well lit hallways with dark ceilings. Half way painted walls behind the couch to mark your area. Dimmed lighting and plenty of it!
For the “Naked Individuality” colour palette inspiration think of hues such as: ink blue, Scandinavian snow, smoky navy, oil green, olivine, Dublin fog, tarragon, dusky green, golden green, hemp, crushed berry, maroon.
Please see images below they are snap shots from the show, complemented with colours from various Dulux colour collections.

Pat McDonnell Paints always recommend the application of a sample prior to a final decision on any colour. There are a number of factors which can substantially influence how a colour looks on a chip card/computer screen & how it will look in a room setting. e.g the quality of a camera image, quality of the computer screen, the lighting in the room etc.
