WAREHOUSE MANAGER - CENTRE PARK ROAD, CORK

We are recruiting for a Warehouse Manager to join the Centre Park Road store in Cork.

We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Manager to join the team in our headquarters in Centre Park Road, Cork.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Warehouse Manager will also work closely with the Branch Managers and other warehouse staff. 

In this role, the Warehouse Manager will oversee and direct all warehouse operations at Centre Park Road, ensuring the efficient flow of stock and goods, effective stock management, and effective staff management.

They will be responsible for the safety and efficiency of the entire warehouse operation, including receiving, storing and dispatching goods.

Key responsibilities also include staff management, working closely with other departments, and implementing best practices to optimise warehouse processes.      

You will be responsible for identifying areas for improvement in conjunction with the Supply Chain Manager, implementing these changes, and making further recommendations to the company regarding improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your key responsibilities would include:

  • Stock Management – Working closely with the Supply Chain Manager to oversee stock levels, ensuring that deliveries from suppliers are on time, returns to suppliers are completed properly, stock outages are managed, and all our stock procedures are followed and improved upon. This will include the monitoring of negative stocks & cycle counting, in conjunction with the Supply Chain team; the overseeing of stocktakes in conjunction with the Supply Chain team and Finance, etc.
  • Warehouse Operations – Managing the booking in, storage, and delivery of goods.
  • Staff Management – Supervising and training warehouse staff, ensuring that all procedures are implemented and carried out in full.
  • Space Optimisation – Ensuring efficient use of warehouse space, optimising layout changes, and implementing best storage solutions.
  • Communication – Working with other branches/warehouses to ensure that they are kept up to date regarding order fulfilment, any out-of-stocks, or any other issues regarding stocks from our Cork location. Working closely with both the internal and external sales teams on any issues regarding stock items.
  • Logistics & Transportation – Managing logistics for transporting goods to both customers and other branches, including the revision of current routes to improve efficiencies.
  • Equipment Maintenance- Overseeing the maintenance and operation of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet trucks, HGV vehicles and LGV vehicles, and any other machinery as required.
  • Health & Safety – Implementing and making sure that all Company Health and Safety policies are adhered to.

The successful candidate will be a leader with strong people and organisational skills, as well as very strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and fun environment.

  • You will need to demonstrate your suitability for the position in terms of experience & team management.
  • You will be able to quickly gain a deep understanding of our ERP system, Intact IQ, and sales processes, so previous experience with ERP systems is essential.
  • You are a self-starter with a high degree of motivation to go above and beyond the task at hand and will enjoy the hands-on/practical elements of this Warehouse role.
  • You will have experience in managing others in the warehouse area, and you will have demonstrated ability to build rapport with colleagues, teams and customers (internal and external)
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritise, and manage time effectively while also ensuring accuracy of your own work and that of others through attention to detail.
