Spring Interiors, Because Colour Matters

Spring has sprung and although it is quite literally Baltic outside (the Beast from the East got us good!) we are looking forward to warmer days. It is the perfect time of year to give the house a good Spring clean and a new lease of life. Here at Pat Mcdonnell Paints we have comprised a list of our top favourite interior design trends for Spring 2018. Scroll down for some seriously good home inspiration.

Marshmallow Palettes

We love this sweet and sugary colour scheme for our homes this Spring. The pastel shades of yellows, pinks, greens and blues will instantly brighten up the place and add a touch of fun to your home. To create this look use Pure Gelato (Pink), Subtle Gelato (Yellow) and Mid Shadow (Grey) from the Dulux Signature Collection.

Botanical Prints

This popular print is going nowhere this Spring and we can see why. Having plants in your home is great, but it can be made even better with a fantastic leafy green wallpaper. We love this Honolulu Palm Green print from Graham & Brown.

Dark Wood

It may seem like a trend for Winter, but dark wood like Walnut, Teak and Mahogany are a big hit this Spring. The dark colours give a room a rich and luxurious look and feel. To create this look use Ronseal Interior Varnish with Diamond Hard Protection in Satin Teak.

Indigo Blue

Dark blues compliment the richness of the dark wood we mentioned earlier. They go hand in hand, which is why we love it. Indigo blue can be lightened with neutral coloured soft furnishings and great lighting. To create this look use (Easycare Washable Mat) Midnight Jewel from Dulux.

This is certainly a trend not to miss. Ombre walls look fabulous in any room, creating a subtle statement. It’s definitely something new to add to your home for a total transformation this Spring. Graham & Brown have a stunning collection of ombre wall murals including this inky blush pink one.
