How do I remove Mould?

I seem to have mould and some mildew  around my window in my Bedroom and in the corner of my ceiling , how do i remove this and how do i stop this from happening again?
Cora

Hi Cora,
Thanks for your email, I would start by cleaning and killing the mould and Mildew with Mould and Mildew cleaner from the Krud Kuttter range. I would highly recommend this as most cleaners will only clean off the mould not kill it. Then i would use Zinsser Perma White, this is a waterbased paint that will prevent any mould re-appearing. This is available in white or can be tinted to a light or med colour. It can be used as an undercoat so you can paint your finish coat over or it can be used as a top-coat, i would recommend using it as a top-coat. It is available in 3 sizes 1ltr, 2.5ltr and 5ltr. By using these two products you will remove the Mould and Mildew and stop them appearing again.

Painting over mould preventing paint usually renders it ineffective

Hi Robk, in our expert opinion, it does. We would recommend that you overcoat with a product called Zinsser Perma White in a matt finish. This is a mould and meldew proof paint. This is available in 1ltr , 2.5ltr, and 5ltr in a white finish and can be tinted into a light/med colour.
