SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER - CENTRE PARK ROAD, CORK

Full-Time, Permanent Position

As a retail, trade, and wholesale business, the customer base comprises consumers, painters/decorators, and a range of paint and hardware stores throughout the country.

We are recruiting a Supply Chain Manager to join the team at our headquarters in Centre Park Road, Cork. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain Manager.  We seek an exceptionally talented individual passionate about Buying and the overall Management & Continuous Improvement of the Buying Process while working effectively with people across a nationwide network of branch operations and all other stakeholders.

 

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for all the buying and indirect buying, including planning and continuously reviewing inventory levels and order/reorder strategies (frequency, responsibility, etc.). This role will work closely with the Finance and Systems teams on projects and implementations.  With approximately 35,000 product lines, 12,000 of which are live, and with 120 live suppliers, the role will have a significant continuous improvement focus, to deliver best in class customer service.

Once the successful candidate has taken responsibility for the coordination and management of all the activities related to forecasting, order processing, planning, purchasing, inventory management, shipping and order tracking, to expand upon the successes of the newly introduced auto-replenishment system to aid efficiency in branch ordering, incorporating the establishment of Min/Max & Refill levels, re-order levels and lead time analysis; the successful candidate will be expected to play a significant role here.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain and build on the good relationships with our existing suppliers and build same with new ones
  • Develop and actively manage supply plans for bulk purchase inventory items(efficient communication of plans and orders with branch teams and other key stakeholders critical)
  • Development of Auto Replenishment process and other process improvements on the ERP System (Intact IQ) in conjunction with in-house Systems Team and external software providers
  • Overview management & maintenance of Purchase Orders on Intact IQ
  • Forecast levels of demand and setting-up max/min levels for each SKU & non-SKU items
  • Monitoring stock ordering levels and sign-off of all orders
  • Manage & maintain an optimal supply chain - oversee all the Supply Chain activities and processes to ensure on-time delivery of customer and internal orders.
  • Manage stock & order logistics – including import duties from UK, US etc
  • Liaise with Business Analytics Manager to link with sales forecasts & promotional activity and with Supply Chain Administrator to ensure that Supplier Price & Product files are correct and up to date.
  • Responsible for the promotion of cost-saving awareness through company ordering policies.

 

About You:  

Ideally, the individual will have proven business results from working in any of the following areas: Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Sales & Operations Planning, Finance or Data analytics. While experience in these areas would be ideal it is not a mandatory requirement. 

More importantly, the successful candidate will have a strong analytical skill set, a passion for learning, a desire to innovate and improve processes and be a strong collaborator and team player. 

  • Strong communication, interpersonal & presentation skills 
  • Results-orientated with strong analytical and problem-resolution skills
  • The ability to adapt to different customer needs and to develop and maintain successful working relationships
  • Strong critical thinking and ability to drive resolution in ambiguous situations
  • Excellent knowledge & computer skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint & Word. Successful candidates must be a very strong user of MS Excel.
  • Experience working with ERP solutions (specific experience with Intact IQ ERP system is preferred but not required).
  • Well-organised & flexible with effective time management skills
  • Demonstrated excellent business acumen and commercial awareness with the ability to think and plan strategically, as well as a strong attention to detail.

 

Experience/Qualifications/Training 

  • 3rd level qualification in Business Studies, Purchasing & Supply Chain, Materials Management, or equivalent is preferred.
  • At least 5 Years of experience in a similar role is essential. While experience within a Retail organisation is ideal, it is not essential
  • Proven track record in delivering change, process improvement, and root cause analytics
