SALES ANALYST - CENTRE PARK ROAD, CORK

Full-Time, Permanent Position

We are recruiting a Sales Analyst to join the team in our headquarters in Centre Park Road, Cork.

As a Retail, Trade, and Wholesale business, the customer base comprises Consumers, Painters/Decorators, and a range of Paint and Hardware Stores throughout the Country.

We are recruiting a Sales Analyst to join the team in our headquarters in Centre Park Road, Cork. 

The sales analyst reports to the Commercial Manager and works with other Leadership Team Members to support Sales Planning and analysis. 

In this role, the Commercial Manager, Branch Managers and others will look to the Sales Analyst to provide reporting and analytical insights, support best practices in sales forecasting and reporting, help establish/streamline policies and procedures throughout the organisation, and support communications in this customer-focused organisation.

About You

The successful candidate will possess a passion for creating scalable, repeatable analytics, and innovative analysis, and the ability to develop findings and recommendations that transcend the numbers.  Ideally, this person will have worked in a Sales & Operations environment or in a comparable role where excellent business acumen combined with analytical nous is essential.

The selected candidate will share responsibility for identifying and reporting on key indicators of sales performance and market opportunity, using those findings to help set the strategic agenda and drive projects for the Company, and presenting recommendations to senior leaders.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Your key responsibilities would include data analysis, reporting, market research, competitive analysis, planning, and sales process optimization. 

  • Report to and work closely with the Commercial Manager to improve and maintain sales reporting, analysis and insights on performance
  • Will also work with our teams in Supply Chain and Marketing
  • Quickly gain a deep understanding of our ERP system, Intact iQ, and sales processes
  • Provide day-to-day analytical support for our Branch Managers across Ireland
  • Utilize Excel and other tools (e.g., Power BI) to perform extensive data analysis
  • Monitor data and system rules to ensure data integrity
  • Analyse and respond to enquiries from members of our Sales Team and Branch Managers
  • Support ongoing analysis of business performance
  • Interact regularly with the sales organisation and other areas of the company
  • Provide ad hoc analyses to understand quotas, distributor and/or sales rep performance and competitor impact.
  • Communication as necessary between supplier/retailer and between internal departments
  • Help Supply Chain with promotional forecasting, tracking key lines and analysing performance
  • Conduct post-promotional reviews and liaise to deliver improvements
  • Develop strong relationships internally and with customers to become the go-to sales data resource person
  • Remain current on technical, industry and business issues and trends that affect the company's sales efforts
  • Data Analytics and Insights into Sales and Operations through our ERP system and analyse sales data and provide timely, accurate reporting on sales, KPIs, including sales targets and other key metrics
  • Follow up and monitoring of the pricing process, including margin analysis and updates

 

About You:  

Ideally, the individual will have proven business results from working in any of the following areas: Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Sales & Operations Planning, Finance or Data analytics. While experience in these areas would be ideal it is not a mandatory requirement. 

More importantly, the successful candidate will have a strong analytical skill set, a passion for learning, a desire to innovate and improve processes and be a strong collaborator and team player.

  • The ability to adapt to different customer needs and to develop and maintain successful working relationships
  • Strong critical thinking and ability to drive resolution in ambiguous situations
  • Excellent knowledge & computer skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint & Word. Successful candidates must be a very strong user of MS Excel.
  • Experience working with ERP solutions (specific experience with Intact IQ ERP system is preferred but not required).
  • Well-organised & flexible with effective time management skills
  • Demonstrated excellent business acumen and commercial awareness with the ability to think and plan strategically, as well as a strong attention to detail.

 

Experience/Qualifications/Training:

Ideal candidates will have sales and/or business analysis experience, very strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced and fun environment.

  • Third Level qualification required in Finance, BIS, Business Administration or a related discipline
  • 2+ years’ experience in a Business Analyst or Finance role is desired.
  • Expert experience with Excel such as complex formulas, pivot tables, xlookups, auditing data, etc.
  • Experience with other analytical systems and techniques such as Python or R to bring to the company would be desirable
  • Experience with creating data models and/or using Power BI would be beneficial
  • Keen ability to analyse data and draw conclusions
  • Succinct presentation and communication skills
  • Self-starter and high degree of motivation to go above and beyond the task at hand
  • Ability to build rapport with teams and have a curious mindset to continuously seek to learn about the challenges and insights sales teams face in the marketplace.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively while also ensuring accuracy of work through attention to detail.
