LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST - CORK

Full-Time, Permanent Position

We are recruiting a Learning and Development Specialist to join the HR team at our headquarters in Centre Park Road, Cork.

We are seeking to hire a motivated and innovative Learning and Development Specialist to join the HR Team. This position will play a key role in the development and implementation of our learning and development offering and contribute to the development of a learning journey for all colleagues.

The L&D Specialist will have a key role in partnering with the leadership and management teams, internal and external stakeholders, and colleagues to build capabilities that support our philosophy of offering and delivering an exceptional customer experience to all of our customers.

Reporting to the HR Manager, the role will involve collaboration across the organisation to grow and develop competencies and capabilities, embed continuous learning, and drive a strong and positive learning culture underpinned by our Values. The role will involve partnering with functional areas to support the design and delivery of high-quality learning and development initiatives that contribute to performance and ensure everyone is supported in reaching their full potential.

Supporting other work areas and programmes within HR will also be required within this role to support the delivery of broader HR services to the organisation.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the business and support the HR Manager & Leadership Team in identifying learning needs and understanding the future talent and skills required to address organisational and performance opportunities and challenges.
  • Working with the HR Manager to lead in the development, implementation and review of an L&D strategy and policies which supports organisational objectives and desired outcomes and which are aligned with, and support, the values and ethos of the Company.
  • Design and develop specific learning solutions for the company and its departments using proven design methodology, project management techniques and blended learning delivery options.
  • Develop and implement training plans to support change initiatives, including the roll-out of training to support the implementation of new processes and procedures.
  • Develop and implement online learning solutions that enable staff to avail of learning opportunities and provide flexibility in access.
  • Partner with all functional areas to design appropriate training solutions as required.  This will involve the introduction of new or improved processes in conjunction with stakeholders.
  • To help embed a culture of Learning & Development in the company.
  • Manage and continuously develop the Induction program
  • Leverage new technologies and innovative strategies to increase the efficiency and scalability of our learning and development processes.
  • Build strong relationships across the organisation by engaging, communicating, and influencing across all areas of the business.
  • Keep senior management and all stakeholders informed of the progress of learning plans and initiatives.

 

Qualifications:

Degree in Learning and Development, Human Resources, Organisational Psychology /Development, or other relevant recognised relevant professional qualification.

 

Experience Required:

  • Must have a minimum of 4-5 years experience in a similar role, designing, implementing and managing learning initiatives in a number of the key responsibility areas above.
  • Expertise in learning design, adult learning and learning technology tools
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience in Learning Management Systems and online learning offerings. Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and good attention to detail with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills with the ability to construct insights into presentations with key messages
  • Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively with partners in other departments to Review, Design and Implement a continuous Learning & Development Framework for colleagues at all stages of their career
  • Demonstrated ability in the application of blended learning design principles
  • Working with subject matter experts and supporting the design and rollout of new training programs and initiatives, for example, creating manuals, guides, and course materials using various tools.
  • Maintain records of learning and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments.
  • Evaluate staff competency and track ongoing competency relevant to roles
  • Evaluate and report learning and development program effectiveness using assessments, surveys, and feedback
  • Manage all aspects of the planning and logistics associated with the roll-out of learning solutions i.e. people, locations, training materials, equipment
  • Delivering & implementing impactful and measurable learning strategies that include reporting on Compliance, Attendance/Participation and return on investment.
  • Self-sufficient, self-starter with a proven track record in building a learning program from the ground up.
  • Demonstrated success in taking ownership of training projects
