Colour Palette from Salone del Mobile Milan 2015 with Dulux Ireland ‘’BACKSTAGE GLAMOUR’’

Backstage Glamour

This is a particular favourite of mine. We prefer to show perfection and hide the backstage. Despite the fact that it is the backstage, where life’s theatre actually happens. The show is entertaining but every party ends.
“Backstage Glamour” asks how do we become who we are? How do we get here and now? How did a transfer from a comfortable bench to luxurious leather sofa happen? How did we travel this far? It is about being present here and now. This trend is transcribed by paint effects. Rolled surfaces, one coat half done, colour rolled on an undercoat. As to tell “I just left…’be back in a minute”.
Distressed look and textured effect on floors and furniture. Opaque finish paint effect on the walls. Dark neutral colour used as a base coat and rolled over with a bold colour. The sleeve has been quite dry this enhances the opaque-finish. Also add random scribbles, half –finished sentences or mottos on the walls and floors. Bring spice back to life!

Are we looking for motivation that we need quotes on the walls? To help us stay calm in a winds of life. Or is it just the best answer to what to do with sample pots. Practice freestyle handwriting with left over paint while adding flavour to your surroundings, be it residential or commercial.
To mention a few companies who had successfully presented this look: Zalf, Desiree, Euromobil, Marset, Koinor, Tomassini.

“Backstage Glamour” trend illustrates that preparation needs time and effort. We all have life to live. Sometimes it is wiser not be so detail focused. Perfection can be boring and soulless; it does exist entirely in a picture, but in reality not so much. This trend has been promoted as a considerable theme for young families. Half painted walls bring back pleasant memories of carefree youth, little responsibilities. Burnt orange, wine red, honey, mint-green, red-orange are popping out on this palette.

To create a “Backstage Glamour”
colour palette think of the following colours: Autumn Orange, golden ochre, sunset orange, hot pink, slate grey, vintage violet, Atlantic deep, stormy sea, cashmere white, coffee, mineral blue, champagne beige, oyster white, feather grey, smoked turquoise, dark olive, blue nights, rust.
